Environmental Field Technician
Full-Time | Day Shift
EST Associates is an environmental services company providing sewer system evaluation studies, industrial water system operations & maintenance (O&M), environmental sampling.
We are hiring a motivated candidate to join our Environmental Pipeline Services team and assist with sewer inspection studies. Overtime opportunities are available during peak season.
Job description:
Primary responsibilities include installing, calibrating, and maintaining flow meters for sewer and drain investigations, as well as Sewer System Evaluation Surveys (SSES). Additional fieldwork may involve performing or assisting with CCTV inspections, smoke testing, dye testing, manhole inspections, and building inspections.
Training will be provided.
Company vehicle will also be provided for transportation to job sites.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform inspections of manholes to assess conditions and evidence of inflow/infiltration
- Perform mapping of sewer/drain manholes and other collection system structures
- Assist with the installation of flowmeters in manholes in conjunction with SSES projects
- Assist with smoke testing, building inspections and dye testing in conjunction with various SSES projects.
- Assist with traffic safety control including directional signage, signals, markers, and flags regarding work site protection and act as flagman when necessary.
- Collect and maintain appropriate calibration records and log field documentation associated with all field work.
- Operating company vehicle to and from job sites safely.
Requirements:
- Environmental Degree/experience is preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude required
- Basic Computer Skills
- Must be a hard worker, have a great work ethic, and be punctual for early morning starts.
– Must be mentally alert and manage work flow, handle interruptions, and work both independently and as a team member.
- Must be amenable to working in confined spaces
- Must possess good communications skills and present him/herself in a professional manner.
– Must be physically able to work and pass DOT physical & drug testing
– Ability to adhere to all applicable safety standards, maintain a safe working area; while recognizing occupational hazards
– Possession of a valid MA driver’s license, and good driving record
– Some overnight travel and weekend work may be required.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred but not required)
