Overview:
The Quality Manager is responsible for both current production and new product launch quality activities. Hiring manager for a team of engineers, analysts, and technicians that drive customer-facing, plant / production, and supplier quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct supervisory responsibility for the quality department team (engineers, analysts, and technicians) including selection, hiring, training, performance evaluations and work schedule.
- Educate, train and coach employees by identifying relevant quality training needs.
- Drive continual improvement in quality systems and processes to ensure customer expectations are consistently met. These systems include a customer support (customer-facing) system, an internal (plant / production) quality system, a supplier (supplier quality) management system
- Champion the immersion of Performance Seat's QMS, BOS (Performance Seat's Business Operating System), and Customer Specific Requirements into all production and product activities.
- Maintain IATF 16949 certification.
- Manage APQP and PPAP requirements within the quality team to achieve successful quality at launch.
- Managing supplier quality issues, as well as calibration and lab activities.
- Lead the problem-solving activities at the Customer, internal and in support of the suppliers to find the root cause and drive permanent corrective action.
- Report quality KPI's and customer scorecards and their related corrective/preventive actions to leadership.
- Active member of the Operations leadership team supporting monthly, quarterly, annual reviews and budget setting requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with a major in engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years of related experience, including supervisory, within the automotive industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of IATF / ISO Quality System standards, training and certification desired. Lead auditor certification a plus.
- Expertise in AIAG standards, including APQP and PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, Flow Charts, R@R, SPC, MSA, Capacity Analysis, GR&R.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities, and equipment.
- Expertise in problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience in PLEX ERP software system is desired.
