Job DescriptionWe’re seeking a Systems Engineer to support infrastructure automation and test framework development in AWS for mission-critical DoD operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical engineer with experience in Agile teams, cloud-based systems, and technical process mapping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with process owners, technical leads, and stakeholders to apply systems engineering (SE) standards and tools.
- Support solution design, integration, testing, and risk mitigation using SE methods.
- Perform data gathering, requirements definition, use case and gap analysis, and specification development.
- Work closely with end users, engineers, and data scientists throughout system planning and sustainment.
- Develop and maintain SE documentation, business process maps, and diagrams using standard toolsets.
- Execute requirements analysis, traceability, implementation planning, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Manage test case creation, execution, and user acceptance testing strategies.
- Contribute to new processes, technical solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and resolve technical issues impacting product delivery.
- Adapt quickly to changing environments and stakeholder needs.
- Support infrastructure-as-code testing frameworks and code deployment validation.
- Communicate concerns early and apply strong problem-solving skills proactively.
RequirementsBasic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 4–8 years of experience (or 2–6 years with a Master's).
- 3+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience in process mapping and systems documentation.
- Strong familiarity with Linux OS, REST APIs, and command-line tools.
- Experience in requirement management, system design documentation (SDP, IDD, ICD), and RVTM creation.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with tools like JIRA, Xray, Git repositories, and Confluence.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Willingness to travel periodically as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS cloud certifications or experience with AWS services.
- Experience in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Elastic/Kibana and Big Data environments.
- Understanding of ITIL framework and network architecture.
- Experience supporting DoD environments and classified systems.
