About the Role
We are seeking an experienced **General Maintenance Technician II** to support the upkeep and performance of our commercial properties. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and applying technical expertise across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry systems. You’ll play a critical role in keeping our facilities safe, functional, and well-maintained while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and tenants.
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex maintenance issues with minimal supervision
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Repair walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, fixtures, and finishes
- Maintain lighting systems, outlets, switches, and basic electrical components
- Perform plumbing repairs including leaks, fixtures, drains, valves, and pumps
- Respond promptly to work orders and emergency maintenance calls
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety policies, and building codes
- Provide guidance and support to Maintenance Technician I staff
- Coordinate with external contractors and communicate professionally with tenants
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum **3 years of experience** in general building maintenance or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repair
- Ability to diagnose issues and execute effective repairs independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills for work order and maintenance tracking systems
- Valid **Florida Driver’s License**
- Ability to safely operate a company van and golf cart
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or General Maintenance Technician certification
- OSHA safety training certification
- Landscape irrigation experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Hours of Operation
- Tuesday through Saturday from 7am to 4pm
- Schedule may vary based on business needs.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- May require after-hours, weekend, or on-call availability
- Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical equipment, and occasional loud noise
