Industrial Maintenance Mechanic -- Blow Molding & Automation
Job Description
Job Description Step onto the night shift and keep production humming
At 9:55 pm you badge in, scan the lines, and hear the rhythm of the floor come alive. By 10:00 pm, you’re walking the EBM and SBM blow molding machines, checking conveyors and packers, and planning your preventive route. When a sensor flags a fault, you’re there with a multimeter and a PLC interface to isolate the issue—mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic—then you document the fix in MaintainX before moving on. You partner with production to keep throughput high, coach a teammate through a tricky diagnosis, and wrap up the night with a clean hand-off and complete end-of-shift report.
What you’ll tackle
- Own preventive and corrective maintenance across blow molders (EBM, SBM), conveyors, packers, and automated systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic domains using hand/power tools, multimeters, and PLC interfaces.
- Coach and train fellow maintenance technicians; share best practices to elevate team capability.
- Partner closely with production to cut downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Execute thorough shift hand-offs and complete accurate end-of-shift reports daily.
- Keep meticulous maintenance logs; update equipment records in our CMMS (MaintainX).
- Support equipment installs, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate clearly with maintenance and operations teams to align priorities.
- Champion safety—adhere to LOTO, GMP, and PPE protocols at all times.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
- Expert troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation.
- Fluency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Skilled with machine shop and fabrication tools: mills, lathes, grinders, welding, and more.
- Comfort with CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance scheduling (MaintainX strongly preferred).
- Proactive, self-directed, and effective in a team setting.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Schedule
Night Shift, Monday–Friday, 10:00 pm – 6:30 am. Flexibility for overtime.
Why you’ll love it here
- Competitive pay with overtime opportunities.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Paid time off plus 10 paid holidays each year.
Bonus points
- Injection molding experience.
