Kaytee is seeking a detail-oriented 1st Shift Logistics Coordinator to join our distribution center team in Chilton, Wisconsin. In this role, you will coordinate the inbound and outbound movement of products, maintain customer accounts, schedule freight, and support daily distribution center operations.
Our Chilton facility works with products for birds, hamsters, rabbits, and other small animals. Responsibilities
- Check drivers in at the distribution center window and verify load and delivery numbers.
- Record driver arrival times and maintain accurate trucking logs.
- Monitor driver wait times and notify supervisors when a truck has been waiting for more than 30 minutes.
- Schedule inbound and outbound appointments while balancing time slots and avoiding overbooking.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding inbound and outbound trailers throughout the day.
- Enter customer orders into designated systems and websites to initiate the logistics process.
- Provide customers and carriers with pickup information.
- Prepare bills of lading and other required shipping documentation.
- Map and process orders accurately.
- Arrange and book inbound and outbound freight.
- Review shortages and generate orders as time allows to help maintain an adequate workflow.
- Coordinate lost- or damaged-product claims with the Senior Logistics Coordinator.
- Provide backup support for other distribution center office functions as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP, or similar business software.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain alert and perform responsibilities in a safe and professional manner.
- Previous logistics, transportation, warehouse, shipping, or customer-service experience is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in a warehouse office environment.
- This is position from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. averaging at least 40 hours per week.
- Some schedule flexibility may be required to accommodate employee schedules, special projects, deadlines, and operational needs.
