Hours: 34.5 hours/week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Postpartum/Mother-Baby position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maternal and child health and demonstrated experience with IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child nursing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Conscious Sedation experience.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
Required Licensure & Certifications
- Active New York State RN License.
- Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).
- AHA BLS certification required.
- AHA ACLS certification required.
- NRP Certification required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns.
- Monitor maternal and newborn conditions and promptly report changes in patient status.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
- Safely administer medications and IV therapies.
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as required.
- Assist with procedures involving conscious sedation when applicable.
- Educate mothers and families regarding postpartum and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Follow established hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain strict patient safety and infection-control standards
