JOB OVERVIEW
Hapa Yoga in Mission Valley offers yoga and fitness classes that promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. We’re seeking Yoga and Fitness Instructors passionate about helping clients achieve their fitness and wellness goals through high-quality instruction of 2-10 classes per week in various styles (Heated and Nonheated Vinyasa, Hatha, Pre-and Post-Natal and Yin Yoga, Pilates/Barre, HIIT, and other fitness classes). RESPONSIBILITIES

Must have experience and certifications in one of the following modalities: Mat Pilates, Group Fitness, TRX, HIIT, Bootcamp, Hot Pilates, Les Miles Format, or other Cardio Weight Based program.

Instruction & Class Leadership - Provide clear and concise instruction , modifications, and adjustments to students of varying levels. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students. Design class sequences that are both challenging and accessible. Monitor students during class, providing modifications and corrections as needed.

Studio Operations & Client Check-In – Assist with opening and closing the studio, ensuring that all equipment, lighting, and climate controls are set appropriately for a comfortable environment. Greet students upon arrival, check them in for classes, and address any questions or concerns warmly and professionally. Secure the facility at closing time by following proper protocols, including locking doors and turning off equipment.

Setup & Cleaning - Prepare the studio to ensure a safe and clean environment, and set temperature, lighting, and music to create a positive atmosphere. Clean studio after class, including returning props, vacuuming and mopping studio floors, and wiping mirrors.

Customer Service & Communication - Answer student questions about yoga, fitness, health, and safety and recommend Hapa classes, workshops, and events to assist clients in achieving goals. Build rapport with students, and always act professionally and in a friendly manner. Communicate openly with management regarding client issues, feedback, or concerns and with instructors for Sub Requests.
QUALIFICATIONS

Legally able to work in the United States with reliable transportation

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Fitness Certification in Group Fitness Modality

Great customer service and communication skills

Ability to lead and instruct students of all levels with clear, engaging, and motivational guidance

Knowledge of proper alignment, modifications, and injury prevention techniques

Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students

Punctual, reliable, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

Basic proficiency in using studio management software or apps for class check-ins and scheduling (preferred)

Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude

Willing to comply with California’s Fair Chance Act regarding background checks, which will be conducted only after a conditional job offer
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear.
