We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Lead AWS DevOps Engineer to drive our DevOps transformation. The ideal candidate will take a hands-on role in designing, automating, and maintaining our AWS infrastructure while acting as the expert go-to person for the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Pipelines). You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with developers to streamline code releases, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- CI/CD Leadership: Develop and manage end-to-end automated CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or Bamboo) to accelerate software delivery and reduce manual intervention.
- Atlassian Toolchain Management: Administer, configure, and optimize the Atlassian suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) to support Agile delivery at scale.
- AWS Service Management: Architect and manage AWS resources including EC2, EKS (Kubernetes), S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Lambda.
- Automation & Scripting: Write automation scripts in Python, Bash, or Go to eliminate manual tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using Amazon CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or Splunk to ensure 24/7 availability.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead technical projects, provide architectural guidance, and mentor junior DevOps engineers on best practices.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security controls (DevSecOps) within CI/CD pipelines, IAM roles, and network security to ensure compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering, with at least 3 years focusing on AWS.
- Atlassian Expertise: Proven experience administering and integrating Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Bamboo).
- AWS Skills: Expert knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS).
- IaC Experience: Proficient in Terraform or CloudFormation.
- CI/CD Knowledge: Strong experience with Bitbucket Pipelines, Bamboo, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Scripting: Proficient in Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
- Containers: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Amazon EKS).
- Agile: Experience working within Scrum or Kanban teams.
