The Law Offices of Gary Martin Hays & Associates, P.C., is seeking a highly motivated, associate attorney to join our Personal Injury Team. The successful candidate must possess strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.. You’ll handle the case file from start to finish with support from our team of highly skilled legal professionals. You should have excellent credentials, a minimum of 3 years of successful personal injury litigation along with trial case experience, and an authentic passion for helping people. Responsibilities:
- Arrange suitable agreements and settle on the clients’ behalf when appropriate
- Assess potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly
- Oversee personal injury case files from beginning to end
- Manage a team of personal injury paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary
- Learn, understand, and execute the firm’s personal injury case management process and procedures according to written and/or verbal instructions
- Manage a portfolio of personal injury cases, through the use of a variety of the case management programs and procedures
- Ensure the rights of the client as well as the professional integrity of the firm are preserved and maintained through professional expert representation in court or before government agencies
- Prepare legal documents and negotiate settlements on behalf of injured clients
Qualifications:
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired
- 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, or civil litigation practice areas is needed
- Knowledge of personal injury law/tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil, and family law is vital
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent time management skills, be organized, and able to effectively prioritize projects and tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent client service
- Intermediate administrative and proficient computer skills are required
- Candidate must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia
