About:

The Junior Personal Injury Associate will be responsible for assisting with legal documentation, research, and analysis. They will partner with senior attorneys to prepare cases for trial.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, draft and file legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals.

  • Present and argue motions in court.

  • Attend hearings with the court.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on case precedents and statutory laws pertinent to the personal injury claims of clients.

  • Participate in the discovery process by drafting requests and responses, reviewing documents, and preparing materials for trial.

  • Assist in the negotiation and settlement of claims, working to achieve the best possible outcome for the client.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on case progress, advice, and legal counsel.

  • Work collaboratively with Trial Teams to prepare cases for trial, including strategy discussions and witness preparation.

  • Attend legal seminars and workshops to continue professional development and stay updated on changes in personal injury law.

  • Manage Service of Process

  • Draft and present minor and death settlement petitions.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the bar in the state where the firm is located.

  • 0-2 years of experience in personal injury law or a related field. New graduates with relevant internship or clinical experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Must be a team player: willing to work collaboratively with colleagues

  • Excellent analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite and demonstrated comfort with technology

  • Strong time management and multitasking skills – must be able to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a busy environment

  • High attention to detail and superior organizational skills

  • Pennsylvania Bar Admission is required, Ohio or West Virginia admission is a plus.
