Job Overview:
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by managing case files, preparing documents, and communicating effectively with clients and courts. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings for attorneys
- Assist with client communication, responding to inquiries,s and providing updates as needed
- Conduct legal research and gather information relevant to cases
- Prepare trial materials and exhibits
- Manage billing records and time tracking for attorneys
- Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and other parties to facilitate case progress
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a personal injury setting.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures
- Proficiency with legal software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Salary and Other Compensation:
The base salary for this position is between $55,000 – $70,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
