Associate Equipment Engineer
Work Location: Bergen County, New Jersey
Summary:
Seeking an Associate Equipment Engineer to support manufacturing operations and validation activities, focusing on improving safety, productivity, yields, process reliability, and manufacturing costs. The role requires a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment, with the ability to support both strategic and operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with commissioning, qualification, and validation of new and existing manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare and review equipment qualification documentation and reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Develop, write, and revise standard operating procedures related to equipment and processes.
- Participate in the design, selection, startup, and optimization of new equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot equipment performance issues, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to facilitate the transfer of new equipment into manufacturing environments.
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes, propose improvements, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Independently or collaboratively solve technical problems, optimize equipment reliability, and enhance throughput and cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent field.
- 0-2 years of industry experience (desirable but not required).
- Experience in regulated industries such as Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or ISO 9000+ environments is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail for document review.
- Ability to adapt to change and quickly learn new concepts or processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective team player.
- Hands-on experience with equipment startup and troubleshooting.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
