We are looking for a skilled Commissioning Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for the startup, calibration, and inspection of OEM refrigeration units, ensuring all components are installed correctly. You will work on control system integration, performance testing, and technical troubleshooting of mechanical, thermodynamic, or electrical issues. You will also conduct client training and generate comprehensive commissioning reports.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical inspections and startup procedures for OEM refrigeration units.
- Conduct I/O tests on PLC-based control systems and verify operational design sequences.
- Execute pressure tests, vacuum pulls, and refrigerant charging.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, thermodynamic, or electrical issues during initial operations.
- Conduct onsite training for facility managers and maintenance staff.
- Generate detailed commissioning reports, including setpoints and sensor calibrations.
Essential Skills
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration and system commissioning.
- Expertise in PLC troubleshooting and electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in field service environments.
- Proficiency in piping, weld, and welding techniques.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is mandatory.
- Experience with Natural Refrigerants (CO2/R-744 or Ammonia/NH3) is highly desirable.
- Ability to read complex P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Proficiency in diagnosing PID loop tuning issues.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% to various job sites.

Work Environment
While at the home base, you will work in a shop environment. However, the role requires traveling to various states across the USA, primarily to different ice arenas for chiller unit installations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $145600.00/yr.
