Medical Receptionist – Dermatology

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Receptionist for a busy Dermatology office. This role is ideal for someone with front desk experience in a high-volume medical setting who enjoys working with patients, families, and clinical staff in a fast-paced environment (200 + patients daily) .

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and families warmly and manage front desk operations in a professional manner.
  • Check patients in and out, verify demographics, and update insurance and registration information.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments using an EMR and practice management system.
  • Answer and route incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with referral coordination, patient forms, and general administrative support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records, handle confidential information, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Support smooth patient flow by communicating with clinical staff and assisting with day-to-day office needs.
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming for pediatric patients and families.

Please note that shift times are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; however, times may vary based on a rotating schedule.

The rotation includes the following shifts:

7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Please be aware that shifts may extend beyond the scheduled end time depending on when the last patient leaves.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Office Administration program preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist in a high-volume physician practice.
  • Proficiency with EMR and practice management systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, stay detail-oriented, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
