This full-time contract opportunity runs through May 21st, 2027, and invites compassionate, energetic educators to help nurture the growth and development of children ages 3-5 with diverse needs. Working primarily with students who are mostly non-verbal or have limited verbal ability, you’ll play a vital part in fostering their progress both academically and personally.
What qualifications and experience are needed?
- Active GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K age groups
- Practical experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly in special education settings
- Comfort with assisting in toileting/diapering routines and feeding needs
- Skill in implementing behavioral strategies for young children
- Ability to differentiate instruction and provide individualized support
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with fellow educators and support staff
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Supporting students in developing communication, social, and daily living skills
- Assisting with daily routines, including behavior management, toileting/diapering, and snack or meal support
- Collaborating with therapists and support staff to ensure comprehensive educational programming
- Maintaining detailed records and contributing to IEP meetings
- Engaging positively with families to foster success at home and school
