Position Title: Maintenance Manager

Department: Vernon, Maintenance (170)

Direct Reports: Maintenance Supervisors, Diesel & Forklift Mechanics, Janitorial Staff

Job Classification: Full Time; Exempt

Position Schedule: Monday – Friday; Start Time 7:00 AM

Pay Rate: $85,000 - $140,000/year depending on experience

Job Summary

Rancho Foods’ Maintenance Manager bears the responsibility for all maintenance related functions including but not limited to: Vernon facility (direct), Modesto facility (oversight), commercial vehicles, service vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, and maintaining compliance with various federal, state, and local agencies.


Essential Functions

Administrative Duties

  • Review, adjust, verify subordinate time sheets on a weekly basis
  • Efficiently schedule direct reports in accordance with daily and/or weekly workload
  • Perform coaching sessions, complete employee evaluations, and administer warnings
  • Perform maintenance associate interviews alongside Human Resources
  • Monitor required certifications and qualifications for all direct reports

Maintenance Functions

  • Print and provide daily incident lists to maintenance associates
  • Open, close, and update status notes as available for incidents in Support system
  • Prioritize completion of maintenance tasks on a daily basis
  • Coordinate urgent/emergency repair services for vehicles on the road
  • Perform quarterly and annual facility inspections
  • Assist with appropriate truck-related compliance needs
  • Maintain proper documentation for truck-related EHS compliance
  • Follow an up-to-date preventative maintenance schedule for facility, trucks, and warehouse equipment
  • Actively recruit and vet new maintenance vendors to save on company costs
  • Work with Accounts Payable department to track all maintenance-related expenses


Job Qualifications

Minimum 6 years’ experience managing a maintenance department

Experience in a maintenance department within a warehousing/trucking environment is a plus

Bilingual in English & Spanish (required)

Experience working on commercial vehicles is preferred

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
