Title: Senior Accountant

Our client, a growing construction/general contracting firm here in Rockville, MD is adding a Senior Accountant to their team.
\n
\n
This person will own the general ledger close across its entities, including month-end close, balance sheet recs, intercompany transactions, job costing/WIP back to the GL, and liaison with external auditors for year-end audit prep.
\n
\n

What you'll own
\n
• The month-end, quarter-end and year-end GL close across multiple entities
\n
• Journal entries: accruals, prepaids, depreciation, intercompany and non-standard entries
\n
• Balance sheet reconciliations and trial balance review across every entity, chasing down misclassifications and unusual variances
\n
• Intercompany transactions and eliminations
\n
• Tying job cost activity to the GL, reconciled to job cost reports and WIP schedules, with the Project Accounting team
\n
• Forecast support, budget-to-actual variance reporting, cash flow analysis and ad hoc analysis for the Controller
\n
• Audit schedules and point of contact for external auditors and tax preparers, plus process and control improvements wherever you see them
\n
\n
What we're looking for
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
\n
• 4+ years of progressive GL/accounting experience including multi-entity work, or 2+ years of audit in public accounting (Big 4, large regional or similar)
\n
• CPA or CPA candidate (strongly preferred)
\n
• Strong GAAP and month-end close fundamentals: journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation
\n
• Construction or data center industry experience (preferred)
\n
• Able to work on-site in Rockville, MD five days a week
\n
