Job DescriptionTRC is seeking a Drive Unit Test Engineer to join one of our electronics manufacturing clients for an onsite position based out of Tallapoosa, GA! Position SummaryThe Drive Unit Test Engineer supports electric vehicle (EV) product testing and production. This role develops functional test programs, improves processes, and provides production support for new product launches and mass production.Key focus areas include ensuring test equipment reliability, verifying compliance with testing specifications, and supporting cross-functional teams to maintain product quality and safety. Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, develop, and program functional test systems.Ensure all testing specifications are met and equipment is properly maintained.Troubleshoot and repair test equipment (hardware and software).Collect and analyze test performance data to drive process improvements.Support production teams with test-related issues and continuous improvement efforts.Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams during new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering TechnologyOR Associate’s degree with 4+ years of manufacturing experience.Strong knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and computer programming.Experience troubleshooting test and production equipment.Understanding of power electronics and manufacturing processes.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (5–10%).Flexibility to work varied shifts as production requires. Preferred QualificationsAutomotive industry experience, particularly with EV systems.Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors.Experience with National Instruments Test Stand or Agilent Test Exec SL.Familiarity with VXI, PXI, GPIB systems and automotive power electronics.Visual C++ certification or Japanese language skills (a plus).Work Environment & Physical RequirementsCombination of office and factory settings (some noise).Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and move pallet jacks up to 450 lbs.Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
