Via Paving is seeking an experienced Roller Operator to join our paving crew. This role is responsible for achieving proper asphalt compaction, density, and surface quality on commercial and municipal paving projects.
The ideal candidate understands rolling patterns, timing, and coordination with the paving crew to deliver high quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt rollers safely and efficiently to achieve required compaction and density
- Follow proper rolling patterns and sequencing based on mix design and job conditions
- Coordinate with the Paver Operator and Screed Operator to maintain mat quality
- Monitor mat temperature and adjust rolling techniques as needed
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Communicate proactively with foremen regarding production, quality, and job site conditions
- Follow all company safety policies and job site procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating asphalt rollers
- Strong understanding of asphalt compaction principles and rolling techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team oriented
- Valid driver’s license
- US Citizen or work VISA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating double drum and pneumatic rollers
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or municipal paving projects
- Ability to assist with training less experienced crew members
- CDL preferred not required, additional compensation if applicant has CDL license
