Job Description
Hiring an Operations Manager in Providence for an independently owned distributor in the trades supply space. Opportunity to grow into multi location leader (GM, Director, or similar title)
\n
\n
Here is the honest version of this job.
\n
\n
They do not need an analyst. They need a leader in the building. The company is investing hard in technology, ERP, reporting, so the reporting work is getting handled. What is not handled is somebody on the floor every day who owns the room, settles the friction, spots the people ready for more, and keeps the operation moving without the owner in it.
\n
\n
Warehouse, counter, shipping and receiving, drivers, and inside sales report in. Outside sales does not.
\n
\n
If you are running the warehouse and the counter at a bigger house and you are capped, this is the seat.
\n
\n
What matters more than the resume:
\n
\n
- \n
- You lead from the floor, not a desk.
- You are fine when your own people know the product better than you do.
- You lean into technology instead of away from it.
- You can be direct with employees even with more experience with than you.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Backgrounds that work: warehouse, counter, or branch operations at an electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial distributor. Parts and service leadership at an equipment, forklift, or truck dealer. Or a trades background who moved into leading people and is done being on the tools.
\n
\n
Industry experience is the fastest ramp. It is not the requirement. Leadership and technology forward is the requirement.
\n
\n
$90K to $110K base plus monthly bonus tied to location performance. On site in Providence. Real path to operations leadership across multiple locations in two to three years.
