Forklift Operator
$21.00–$24.00 Per Hour
Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM; Overtime as Required
Onsite in Gahanna, Ohio 43230Temp-to-Hire
What You'll Be Doing:
- Safely operate material handling equipment, including cherry pickers, reach trucks, double reach trucks, and sit-down forklifts.
- Unload inbound trailers and verify product accuracy against bills of lading and purchase orders.
- Pick, stage, and load outbound orders according to customer requirements and shipping schedules.
- Put away received materials in designated storage locations using warehouse management system (WMS) tools and scanners.
- Conduct cycle counts, replenish inventory, and perform inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Wrap pallets, label freight, consolidate inventory, and assist with general warehouse duties.
- Immediately report product damage, safety hazards, and equipment malfunctions to management.
- Work overtime as needed to meet operational demands.
Who We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of reach truck experience required.
- Three or more years of warehouse or distribution experience preferred.
- Experience operating powered industrial trucks, such as cherry pickers, reach trucks, or sit-down forklifts.
- Forklift certification preferred or available upon hire.
- Basic addition and subtraction skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, safety, and productivity.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet when operating order pickers or turret trucks.
- Excellent attendance during the first 90 days, with no time-off needs during at least the first 30 days.
- Ability to work in both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled warehouse areas.
