About the role
The Security Analyst supports the Information Security Officer by monitoring security events, analyzing data, and assisting with investigations, audits, and vulnerability management activities. This role is highly analytical and operational, focused on identifying threats, evaluating risk, maintaining security documentation, and supporting the enterprise cybersecurity program through reporting, incident response, and continuous improvement efforts. The analyst helps ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational systems and data.
This position can be located in Sioux Falls, SD, or Pierre, SD.
What you will do
- Monitor and analyze alerts, events, and network activity from security tools; assist with triage, prioritization, and escalation.
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate security‑related information to identify threats, vulnerabilities, trends, and anomalies.
- Develop recurring and ad‑hoc security reports, dashboards, and metrics (KPIs/KRIs) for leadership, auditors, and regulators.
- Conduct and/or support regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing activities; assist with remediation tracking and documentation.
- Participate in cybersecurity planning and review processes, including tabletop exercises, audits, and assessments.
- Support incident response activities by gathering logs and evidence, helping reconstruct timelines, performing initial investigations, and documenting root cause analysis and remediation.
- Assist with access reviews, risk assessments, and control testing to support compliance and governance requirements.
- Maintain documentation of security operations, processes, evidence collection, and investigative workflows.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of end‑user cybersecurity training and awareness initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting, data collection, and security-related workflows.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field required.
- Experience in the area of bank information security preferred, with knowledge in the fundamentals such as incident management, forensic analyses, obfuscation techniques, vulnerability scans, threat intelligence.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability scanning, forensic concepts, malicious activity detection, and security monitoring tools.
