The main function of a warehouse worker is to receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

Responsibilities

Receive and count stock items, recording data manually or using a computer.
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Label stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
5-7 years of experience required.
Previous titles include: Material Handler.

Work Environment

This role requires working in a warehouse setting with a shift from 09:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with Mondays from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, focusing on maintaining order and ensuring safety compliance. Dress code is casual, suitable for warehouse operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Lyme, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
