Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Onsite, 5 days/week (some evenings/weekends during peak periods)

Role Overview

The Deskside Support Technician provides hands-on technical support for a premier retail landmark location within a luxury brand environment. This role focuses on day-to-day IT support, device management, and point-of-sale technology, working closely with senior technicians, regional IT teams, and external partners.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically capable, and comfortable supporting retail operations in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Support & Service Delivery (40%)

  • Provide onsite technical support for endpoint devices including PCs, Macs, mobile devices (iOS/Android), printers, phones, and peripherals
  • Support Point of Sale (POS) systems and related retail technology
  • Assist with software installs, updates, and basic troubleshooting
  • Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or vendors as needed

Inventory & Automated Systems Support (25%)

  • Provide hands-on support for automated inventory systems (training provided)
  • Partner with remote vendors and senior team members during troubleshooting
  • Perform routine system checks and assist with basic reporting

Hardware Deployment & Requests (15%)

  • Set up and deploy laptops, desktops, printers, POS devices, and payment hardware
  • Coordinate hardware installations with vendors when required

Documentation & Process Support (10%)

  • Follow established procedures and knowledge base documentation
  • Assist in updating guides, work instructions, and troubleshooting documentation

Customer & Partner Communication (10%)

  • Communicate clearly with store teams and IT partners
  • Track incidents and requests to resolution within defined SLAs

Schedule & Availability

  • This role is fully onsite
  • Shifts may include evenings or weekends, especially during holiday or peak retail periods
  • A Tuesday–Saturday schedule may be required during the holiday season

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in IT support, deskside support, or service desk roles
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS environments
  • Familiarity with Office 365 tools
  • Basic experience with Active Directory user and device management
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to follow processes, document work, and manage multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting POS systems or retail technology
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) tools
  • Basic command line experience (PowerShell or similar)
  • Exposure to video conferencing tools and collaboration technology
  • Awareness of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, IP addressing, switching)
