Represented By: Direct Counsel Position OverviewDirect Counsel represents a top AmLaw 100 firm seeking an Energy Regulatory Associate. This mission-driven practice handles high-stakes matters for independent power producers, large consumers, grid-edge companies, and transmission developers. Key Responsibilities
- Draft highly persuasive FERC pleadings.
- Navigate Federal Power Act matters (Sections 203, 205, 206).
- Advise on RTO/ISO market design and PURPA.
- Manage compliance, enforcement, and generation interconnection.
Qualifications
- 2–6 years of FERC or law firm energy regulatory experience.
- Elite writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Superior academic credentials.
- Plus: Experience with ERCOT, RTO stakeholders, or state regulation.
Compensation & Financials
- Base Salary: $235,000 - $390,000 (Based on class year).
- Bonus: Discretionary merit bonuses.
- Professional Fees: Firm-paid CLE, bar review, and bar dues.
