Job DescriptionIntellectual Property Associate Attorney – Patent Litigation

Direct Counsel is seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate to join a top-tier national law firm in Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Washington, D.C., Dallas, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco or Wilmington.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation associate to focus on patent litigation for a diverse national and international client base. The ideal candidate will thrive in a client-focused, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling intellectual property litigation matters, with a focus on patent disputes
  • Collaborating with attorneys and clients to develop case strategies
  • Drafting legal documents, motions, and pleadings
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support litigation efforts
  • Representing clients in hearings and court proceedings

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of intellectual property litigation experience
  • Background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science is strongly preferred
  • Experience as a federal judicial law clerk is a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Collaborative and self-motivated approach

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Anticipated salary range: $175,000 – $255,000, based on experience and location
  • Performance-based and discretionary bonuses
