Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
  • Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
  • Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning routines to promote hygiene and comfort
  • Document care activities meticulously, including patient observations, care plan updates, and incident reports
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to foster social engagement and mental well-being

Experience

  • Prior experience in assisted living, home health, or nursing home environments is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease), or memory care needs
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling sensitive patient information securely
  • Hands-on experience with patient monitoring tools and techniques such as vital signs measurement and patient observation
  • Experience working with residents who have complex needs such as hospice or long-term care requirements is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
