Position Overview

The Mainframe Developer will support enhancements and maintenance of enterprise mainframe applications, focusing on COBOL-based development, database expansion, and integration of newly mandated workflows. This role requires strong experience with ADABAS/Natural environments and complex batch and online processing.

Scope of Services / Responsibilities

  • Perform COBOL programming to support database field expansions

  • Develop and enhance programs for data entry and storage of newly mandated workflows

  • Implement programming solutions to import hearing calendars from external issuing agencies

  • Develop functionality for electronic cure entry workflows

  • Program enhancements for user data updates and maintenance

  • Support batch and online processing in a production mainframe environment

  • Ensure reliable data transfers between server-based systems and the mainframe

  • Maintain and enhance existing programs while ensuring performance, accuracy, and compliance

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Note: Candidates who do not meet the mandatory requirements will not be considered.

  • Minimum 4 years of professional mainframe development experience

  • Extensive experience with COBOL / COBOL II

  • Strong experience with Natural programming

  • Hands-on experience with ADABAS database systems

  • Proficiency with JCL, including complex PROCLIB jobs

  • Experience with Mainframe SORT utilities

  • Experience with FTP processes

  • Experience creating Online MFS screens

  • Experience coding under automated mainframe system frameworks

  • Experience with server-to-mainframe and mainframe-to-server integrations

  • Familiarity with WebMethods

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365
