Position: Building Maintenance Technician
Location: Forest Lake, MN
Compensation: $22 - $25 / hour (DOE)
Position Overview
The Building Maintenance Technician maintains buildings and grounds, handling installation, repair, and upkeep of facility systems and equipment. The role supports year-round maintenance needs and contributes to a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. The technician works independently, solves problems, and collaborates with team members as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform maintenance and repairs on heating/AC, plumbing, lighting, and general building systems.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance while following safety procedures and internal SOPs.
- Carry out janitorial duties including sweeping, cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas, and restocking supplies.
- Maintain exterior grounds, including mowing, trimming, planting, snow removal, shoveling, and plowing.
- Perform occasional painting and cosmetic building improvements.
- Handle and store hazardous materials properly and maintain required Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Document work as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of building and grounds maintenance experience, including troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Strong problem-solving ability and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Preferred: training or certification in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing fields.
