Direct Support Professional (PRN) – Crestwood, Florissant and/or Bel-Ridge


Location: Crestwood, Florissant and/or Bel-Ridge, MO
Program Type: Individual Supported Living (ISL) – 3 homes
Status: PRN (As Needed/WE ASSIST CLIENTS AROUND THE CLOCK, 365 DAYS PER YEAR, OPEN AVAILABILITY IS A MUST.)
Reports To: Program Manager


Position Purpose:

UCP Heartland is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate PRN Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with developmental and physical disabilities in our Crestwood, Florissant and/or Bel-Ridge ISLs. As a PRN DSP, you’ll play a vital role in fostering independence, enhancing quality of life, and ensuring safety and dignity for the people we serve—both in their homes and the community. OPEN AVAILABILITY IS A MUST

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation
  • Safely perform lifting and transfers, including use of ceiling lifts and wheelchair repositioning
  • Administer medications per physician orders and agency policies (L1MA required or willing to obtain)
  • Provide adaptive transportation to community outings, appointments, or events
  • Implement and support ISP (Individual Support Plan) goals and activities
  • Maintain shift documentation using Set-Works and complete reports as required
  • Communicate effectively with families, guardians, coworkers, and agency staff
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment, including light housekeeping duties
  • Participate in team meetings, calls, and ongoing collaboration with supervisors


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Outgoing, fun and positive personality
  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills—professionalism with individuals served, coworkers, families, and external contacts
  • Highly reliable, organized, and creative with a collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team
  • Willingness to learn and utilize technology platforms including: Relias, QuickMAR, Set-Works, Microsoft 365, and ADP
  • Ability to follow through on responsibilities and maintain confidentiality
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • THERE IS A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT FOR 8 SHIFTS IN A MONTH AND THAT WILL INCLUDE AT LEAST 2 WEEKEND SHIFTS.


Certifications & Training:

  • Must maintain or be willing to obtain the following (training support provided):
    • Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA)
    • First Aid/CPR
    • Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI)
  • Must adhere to PRN contract and maintain active training status


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental or physical disabilities
  • Previous ISL or direct care experience

THIS POSITION REQUIRES 5-7 DAYS OF MANDATORY TRAINING AT OUR CORPORATE OFFICE Monday through Friday 8:45 AM - 4:15 PM
