Job DescriptionLHH is working with a company based in Chicago who is looking to hire a Database Engineer (whose focus is on Data Security) to join our team for a 7 month project. The role will be 100% remote.

This is to add a contractor to commence the database security assessment for Data Security.

Our client is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join their Data Security team. The right candidate will have demonstrated their ability to execute on exceptional solutions for our business and applications customers.

The Senior Database Engineer will be highly motivated, well organized and able to lead in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Database Engineer should have the flexibility to contribute, react and execute in a fast paced multi project environment.

The Senior Database Engineer will be the subject matter expert for systems administration, specifically in Database Administration/Data Security. The Senior Database Engineers experience and expertise will help implement the client’s security centric project solutions. The contributions will be integral throughout the lifecycle of our security projects.

The Senior Database Engineer will both assess current environment for gaps in requirements for best practice in design and lead the hands on implementation where needed. The database administration and security expertise will guide our internal customers’ solution through IT requirements, ITIL standards and industry best practices.

This includes:

Assist in planning, coordinating, analyzing, and designing the implementation of technical solutions and/or enhancements to existing systems to meet current and future needs

Apply 360 degree security analysis on pre-flight and in-flight projects

Contribute in the development of, and adherence to, all technical standards, infrastructure portfolio strategy, security policy, service level agreements, and infrastructure processes

At least 5 years Database administration of complex enterprise database implementation and/or support of highly distributed and available applications

Minimum of 10 years industry experience

Demonstrated experience with the installation and operation of a relational database system and database applications.

Experience with external user functions, internal systems services, and file system structures.

Experience with installing and configuring relational databases management systems software.

Extensive experience in database administration with proven ability to track and report on capacity, current utilization and projected growth, and general health of databases.

Experience with database design and programming techniques such as views, triggers, and stored procedures.

Demonstrated knowledge of database security protocols.

The ability to communicate complicated technical issues and the risks they pose to project management and executive management

Excellent verbal and writing skills

Deep technical and architectural experience in IT Security and commercial systems design

Strong understanding of security best practices and standards

Strong ability to document technical solutions that can clearly articulate technical designs

Experience working with development teams to build secure solutions

Familiarity with common vulnerabilities and attack vectors

Education

  • Experience working as a senior technical resource or related engineer role in a company where there is a commitment to information security and technology

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Database Administration certifications

  • Security Certifications (CompTIA Security+, SSCP, AWS Security)



Pay Details: $55.00 to $75.00 per hour
