Position Summary:
Rossmnster is seeking a skilled and passionateCustom Van and Truck Camper Mechanicto join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in diagnosing, repairing, and enhancing custom van conversions and truck campers. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise and contribute to the innovative field of camper van and off-road vehicle customization, helping to bring adventurous designs to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing required installs on client vehicle conversions
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues
- Completing scheduled routine maintenance
- Working cohesively with the shop and customer experience teams in order to stay on schedule and exceed customer expectations
- Engage in a variety of tasks, ensuring no two days are the same
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience, preferably in the automotive or recreational vehicle (RV) industry.
- Proven proficiency as a mechanic or suspension technician, with a focus on suspension systems including installation, repair, and adjustment of shocks, struts, sway bars, leaf springs, and chassis upgrades.
- Familiarity with camper van conversions, off-road vehicles, or specialty vehicle modifications is a strong advantage.
Education and Licensing:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification from a vocational school or completion of a relevant apprenticeship is preferred.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comprehensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance, including electrical systems and chassis upgrades.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and specialized automotive equipment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle components, diagnostic systems, and their application in custom or specialty vehicles.
Work Style and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Previous experience in a dealership or automotive repair shop is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with team members and clients.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to staying updated on new vehicle technologies and techniques.
Logistics:
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Longmont, Colorado.The team operates on a 410 schedule, Monday through Thursday, with Fridays available for optional overtime or catch-up work. From time to time, this role may also support evening or weekend efforts tied to vehicle launches or special projects.
