As a Senior Litigation Attorney, the entire team at MNCLS looks to your leadership and excellence in the practice of law. This position demands a high level of expertise, sophistication, and strategic thinking as you resolve our most complex litigation cases. You serve as a mentor to junior attorneys, contribute to the firm's reputation for legal excellence, and deliver unwavering advocacy for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Complex Litigation:
- Take charge of litigation cases, demonstrating an exceptional ability to navigate complexities, adapt to evolving circumstances, and strategically manage all phases of the legal process.
- Develop, execute, and adapt case strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Client Representation:
- Provide exceptional legal representation for our clients in various court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and negotiations.
- Ensure clients' best interests are at the forefront of all legal actions.
Legal Analysis:
- Conduct exhaustive legal research, scrutinize precedent, statutes, and regulations, and engage in sophisticated legal analysis.
- Develop innovative and well-grounded legal strategies, incorporating an in-depth understanding of case law and industry-specific regulations to craft persuasive arguments and positions.
Legal Documentation and Writing:
- Draft and review a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements, adhering to the highest standards of legal writing and accuracy.
Trial Preparation:
- Lead comprehensive trial preparations, including witness preparation, evidence compilation, and the development of trial strategies. Represent clients with poise, professionalism, and a persuasive presence in the courtroom.
Client Counseling:
- Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, advising them on potential risks, options, and potential outcomes. Collaborate with clients to make informed decisions that align with their legal objectives.
Effective Collaboration With and Utilization of the Support Staff:
- Collaborate efficiently with non-attorney support staff, delegating appropriate tasks to maximize productivity.
- Empower support staff to handle administrative, research, and documentation tasks, allowing you to focus on high-value legal work. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong and lasting relationships with clients by delivering exceptional legal services and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Ensure clients are informed of case progress, developments, and potential strategies, fostering trust and confidence in our representation.
Complete and Accurate Documentation:
- Maintain meticulous timekeeping records, client files, and case documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Adhere to the highest standards of record-keeping and documentation integrity.
Legal Technology Proficiency:
- Stay current with internal and external technology tools and platforms relevant to MNCLS and the legal profession.
- Leverage technology to enhance case management, research, communication, and efficiency in legal practice.
Legal Expertise:
- Stay at the forefront of legal developments by continually monitoring changes in laws, regulations, and litigation trends relevant to our practice areas.
- Provide regular updates to the legal team and clients on emerging legal issues that may impact ongoing or prospective cases.
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR):
- Utilize your expertise in alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration to explore efficient and cost-effective resolutions whenever suitable for our clients' best interests.
Professional Development and Mentorship:
- Continuously invest in your own professional development by attending legal seminars, conferences, and staying updated on legal scholarship. Share your knowledge within the firm to enhance the overall expertise of the legal team.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys, fostering their professional growth and development within the firm.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Minnesota.
- Minimum of 8 years of successful litigation experience.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
