Rebuilding Hope Sexual Assault Center is seeking to hire a passionate and capable individual to serve as the Development Coordinator on our Development Team.


Rebuilding Hopes mission is to provide support, promote healing, and partner to end sexual violence. As the state-designated Community Sexual Assault Program for Pierce and Kitsap counties, Rebuilding Hope offers support toward healing through advocacy and therapy for those affected by sexual assault and abuse. Through education and collaboration, Rebuilding Hope improves the communitys response to sexual assault victim-survivors and challenges behaviors and beliefs that promote sexual violence.


We are seeking candidates for this position who are passionate about enacting positive social change towards reducing instances of sexual violence in our community and supporting survivors on their journeys towards healing. Best candidates for this position will be able to demonstrate their unique potential to further Rebuilding Hopes mission by increasing the agencys visibility and diversifying its financial resources.

Reports to: Development and Communications Manager


Basic Functions: Fundraising, Donor Engagement and Stewardship, Community Outreach


Location: Pierce County or greater South Puget Sound, Washington region - this is an on-site, in-person position with options to make available hybrid/remote scheduling as determined by Management and based on successful on-boarding. This employee must reside or plan to relocate to Pierce County or neighboring regions in Western Washington in order to report for work in-person as needed at the Tacoma office, across Pierce and Kitsap counties and, occasionally, other communities in the South Puget Sound region .


Position Type: Full-time (minimum 30 and up to 40 hours weekly), Hourly, Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime pay)


Salary & Benefits: $32.13 - $33.92 per hour (DOE)


Benefits: This position is eligible for agency benefits in accordance with Washington State law and the agencys adopted policies and procedures. Full-time employees may choose to opt into the Agencys group plans for medical, dental, vision care, and retirement benefits upon satisfaction of eligibility and enrollment periods. The agency pays 100% of premiums for health, dental, and vision care plans for full time employees as well as 2% contribution of eligible employees' salary to the Agencys SIMPLE IRA retirement plan. Washington State employees are eligible for Paid Family Medical Leave benefits and Rebuilding Hope offers supplemental benefits in the event agency employees apply and become eligible for PFML from the State.


The Agency offers generous accrual rates for paid personal, sick, and vacation time off in addition to 13 paid holidays. The agency reimburses approved mileage monthly at the current federal rate.


Timeline: Position will remain open until filled. Priority given to applications received by July 28, 2025.


Starting Date: Negotiable - Preference for candidates who can begin before September 15, 2025.


Primary Objective: Work with the Development and Communications Manager to expand Rebuilding Hopes reach and impact in meeting its mission by diversifying revenue sources through effective fund development methods that include increasing agency visibility across the South Sound and State of Washington; individual donor engagement and stewardship; cultivating corporate sponsors; and implementing coordinated, purposeful, and inclusive capital and targeted campaigns, initiatives, and events. This position will have a special focus on the Healing Headquarters Campaign in 2025-2027, a $4.5m capital campaign to secure and renovate the agencys first-ever owned building and expand its service capacity.


Fundraising / Donor Relations:

  1. Work with the Development and Communications Manager to utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database efficiently for effective event and campaign planning, donor communication, acknowledgements, and solicitation; including creating donation portals, generating reports, and mailing lists.
  2. Oversee donor database maintenance, developing and implementing data best practices in collaboration with the Development and Communications Manager.
  3. Work with the Development and Communications Manager to create and distribute mass-mailed print fundraising appeals, newsletters, and event invitations.
  4. Prepare and send all donor acknowledgement correspondence and year-end tax letters.
  5. Manage grant reporting deadlines and requirements in collaboration with the Development and Communications Manager and contracted grant writing team.
  6. Develop timely, multi-channel fundraising campaigns and/or appeals to respond to urgent agency needs.
  7. Support implementation of the agencys annual fundraiser and other events as needed, including guest and volunteer management, procurement, donor follow-up, reconciliation, etc.
  8. Implement all-donor stewardship best practices in collaboration with the Development and Communications Manager towards engaging and retaining individual donors over time, including personalized thank yous and follow-ups over phone, email, and letter.
  9. Support development and implementation of targeted giving programs such as planned giving, monthly giving, alternative giving, and social media fundraisers.
  10. Perform other tasks as directed by the Development and Communications Manager, Executive Director, or other designee.


Campaigns and Major Giving

  1. Manage campaign recordkeeping including donor pledge forms, grant award letters, invoices for gifts, acknowledgements and recognition forms, expense tracking, and fundraising totals.
  2. Support donor communications for the Healing Headquarters Campaign including but not limited to scheduling site visits, updating campaign blog and website, and developing and sending donor impact updates and event invitations.
  3. Organize and implement capital campaign-related events such as house parties and special interest group gatherings.
  4. Prepare the Executive Director, Development and Communications Manager, and/or Board Members for major gift solicitations with individual donors, corporate funders, and foundations through donor research and timely follow-up.
  5. Coordinate outreach to local government jurisdictions to increase awareness and build strategic relationships across diverse communities in Pierce and Kitsap counties.
  6. Develop strategy and maintain detailed records of prospect outreach and cultivation, in collaboration with Development team and campaign counsel.


Public Relations

  1. Know the organization and its work inside and out, being willing to call on and collaborate with other staff members for information or support, especially in program-focused or subject-matter conversations where you may not be the expert.
  2. Be a primary storyteller; constantly look for and share stories of Rebuilding Hopes work and impact across the Pierce and Kitsap county communities.
  3. Represent Rebuilding Hope to the local philanthropic community, peer agencies, and the broader public with professionalism, regularly attending community events and networking to increase agency visibility.



Required Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 3 years experience working in non-profit organizations with experience in direct active solicitation of individual donors, grants, corporate support, and/or government funding including state, federal, and municipal sources.
  2. Proven ability to utilize CRM systems for basic donor management and fundraising functions.
  3. Goal-directed self-starter with an accountable work ethic.
  4. Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision, while achieving goals and objectives.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Collaborative and consistent communication style.
  7. Flexible nature and composed when under pressure.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to comfortably interact in large event environments.
  9. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  10. Extremely proficient in computer use; comfortable learning new computer programs.



Desirable Qualifications

  1. Completed college degree is desirable, but not required depending on cumulative experience and skills.
  2. Experience supporting one or more capital campaigns.
  3. Advanced proficiency utilizing CRM systems for donor management and fundraising functions.
  4. Professional experience in trauma-informed and -responsive settings.



Other Requirements

  2. Uphold all policies and procedures at Rebuilding Hope.
  3. Complete 30+ hours of sexual assault core training (provided by Rebuilding Hope).
  4. Attend scheduled Rebuilding Hope staff meetings and additional Rebuilding Hope staff requirements, including staff retreats or internal staff training requirements.
  5. Prior to receiving a hire offer, candidates must pass a successful professional reference check and an initial Washington State Patrol background check (completed by the agency).
  6. Upon hire, employees must pass a multi-agency fingerprint background check (arranged and paid for by the agency).
  7. Employees must complete a 90-day performance probationary period.
  8. This employee must have access to their own reliable form of transportation as well as possess a valid drivers license and personal auto insurance valid in Washington state in order to be approved for use of any agency vehicle and/or eligible for mileage reimbursement.


Position Details: This is a full-time, non-exempt position based out of Rebuilding Hopes Tacoma office location while spanning all of Pierce and Kitsap counties for applicable activities and events. Agency operating hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday - Friday, and employees are supported in creating and maintaining individual work schedules that support full-time work and work-life balance in tandem with the essential needs of the agency and position. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required for events. Rare instances of overnight travel may be required. All necessary office equipment, furnishings, and supplies will be provided.
