Job DescriptionSalary: $26.27/hour
The Maintenance Assistant/Floor Tech position for experienced individual to work day shift and to share on-call responsibilities (every third week).
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining facility, grounds, and equipment in a safe efficient manner in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, and established guidelines, regulations, and company policies and procedures;
- Maintaining floor care responsibilities throughout the community to include carpet care and floor/tile care duties;
- Receive and follow maintencance schedule and instructions from supervisor and as established in policies and procedures;
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbin, plastering, painting, electrical, carpentry, mechanical and other tasks as necessary;
- Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc. by cutting, trimming, sweeping, and removing snow as needed;
- Completing all documentation accurately and on appropriate forms;
- Reporting equipment malfunctions or breakdowns as soon as possible;
- Following preventative maintenance schedules;
- Keeping work areas free from hazardous conditions to assure all established safety rules are followed at all times;
- Ensuring equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored before leaving work areas;
- Replacing burned out light bulbs and performing cleaning duties when necessary;
- Following established ergonomic policies for lifting, repetitive tasks, and the use of equipment;
- Complying with infection control procedures;
- REsolving resident concerns and complaints, reporting those that cannot be resolved to your supervisor;
- Responding in a timely manner to communications from all sources (email, voicemail, written, and verbal);
- Create an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility;
- Represent the organizationi in a positive manner, communicating the mission, ethics, and goals of United Church of Christ Homes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED preferred;
- Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical trouble-shooting strongly preferred;
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public;
- Willingness to work harmoniously with others;
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language;
- Ability to relatate to and work with persons who exhibit emotionally instability, confusion, or hostility;
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pouns to a height of 3 feet and carry such weight a distance of 25 feet;
- Using a mechanical device, must regularly be able to push, pull, or move weight in excess of 100 pounds a distance of 300 feet; and
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
