Duties and Responsibilities: The Desktop Support Specialist provides on-site technical support for end-user computing environments across the Sparrow health system. This role focuses on device setup, troubleshooting, and supporting clinical and administrative staff with IT equipment and applications. This position aligns with an Entry to Intermediate Field Services Specialist tier, focusing on foundational field support, customer service, and hands-on technical troubleshooting in a healthcare environment.
Education/Certification:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate degree in Information Technology or related field CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification
Years of experience required: 1–3 years of desktop support, field services, or IT helpdesk experience preferred.
Disqualifiers: No prior experience supporting end-user computing environments. Lack of customer service or user-facing support experience. Inability to work onsite or travel between local facilities if needed. Additional qualities to look for: Desktop hardware troubleshooting and deployment Customer Service Proficiency Ticket documentation and IT service management tools (ServiceNow or similar)
