NOTE: This is a full-time employment opportunity (No C2C, subcontractor or 1099 engagements, please.) The candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen, possess an active Top-Secret clearance, and be local to the Washington DC metro area. This position is on-site, ET time zone work schedule.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of secure cloud infrastructures leveraging Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Architect and contribute to implementation of cloud-native solutions via DevSecOps methodologies, focusing on automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Architect Kubernetes environments, leveraging both self-hosted clusters and cloud-native solutions (AKS, EKS, GKE) to optimize scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Drive cloud migration initiatives, including assessment, planning, and execution of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud architecture, establish migration strategies, and optimize cloud environments.
  • Provide technical guidance on cloud security, compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST), and best practices for microservices, containers, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Lead efforts in infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, ARM / Bicep templates, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Develop and document cloud architecture, technical roadmaps, and security protocols to support strategic IT goals.
  • Design solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and incident response, ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.
  • Work closely with and mentor cloud engineering teams to integrate cloud services into the application lifecycle, enhancing security and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative culture of proactive problem solving, personal accountability, and continuous improvement through Agile/Scrum methodologies, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen as mandated by our government client.
  • Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance; an interim Top-Secret clearance may be considered.
  • Must be local to the Washington DC metro area to be on-site daily.
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud architecture, including hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Proven experience in deploying and managing cloud services (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud), with a focus on IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, ARM, Bicep, JSON, YAML), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, both self-managed and cloud-native implementations like AKS, EKS, GKE).
  • Advanced skills in cloud security, identity management (Azure AD, OAuth), and network configurations (firewalls, VPNs, load balancers).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) and automation of cloud infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex system issues, including root cause analysis and incident management.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles, providing technical guidance and support for critical cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related IT discipline or equivalent experience.


  • Technical certifications in AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect, or similar is a PLUS.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures is a PLUS.
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization, monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Google Stackdriver), and performance tuning is a PLUS.
  • Prior experience working with the federal or government environments is a PLUS.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management is a PLUS.

Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The annual salary range for this position is $119,463 – $161,100.
