Jr. 76ers Camps is the longest running and largest summer camp program in the NBA. Join our team to help inspire young athletes, work with an outstanding team of youth coaches, and develop professional skills to advance your career.

The Athletic Trainer ensures the health and safety of all on-site campers and Team members; obtains and maintains health records and documents; administers basic first aid and medications and responds to emergencies as necessary.

Dates & Locations

  • June 29 to July 1 at Cape May Special Services School (Cape May Court House, NJ)
  • August 3 to August 6 at Riverwinds Community Center (West Deptford, NJ)
  • August 17 to August 20 at Montgomery County Community College (Blue Bell, PA)
  • August 17 to August 20 at Radnor Activity Center (Wayne, PA)

Requirements:

  • Education & Certifications:
    • Valid license as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
    • CPR/AED Certification is required.
    • Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certifications (preferred)
  • Experience:
    • Athletic Training experience or other experience working with children.
    • Proven success in working with children and young adults with medical conditions, including food allergies, diabetes, and seizure disorders.
    • Proven success in working with children and young adults with special needs and/or disabilities.
  • Hours: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday or Friday.
  • Schedule Commitment: Jr. 76ers Camps run for 10 weeks from the middle of June through the end of August. Schedules are flexible, with most team members working two to six weeks throughout the summer.
  • Required Training: Complete all required Jr. 76ers, ESF and state-mandated training and onboarding.
  • Dress Code: Maintain the "Jr. 76ers Look" (camp uniform) and embody the spirit of the camp.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Care: Provide medical care for campers as needed. Administer appropriate care in compliance with ESF Standards, Policies, Guidelines, and Procedures.
  • Teach & Inspire: Educate Team members on health and safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, basic first aid, Epi-Pen, and rescue inhaler administration, and serve as a resource for emergency response procedures.
  • Customer Service:
    • Serve as a point person for Jr. 76ers Camps families; respond to inquiries in person as well as over the phone.
    • Greet campers and their guardians; take attendance upon arrival.
    • Answer telephones and transfer calls to appropriate team members
    • Call camp families to confirm enrollment or discuss camper needs.
  • Camp Supplies and Branding:
    • Setup branding at site according to Jr. 76ers Camps standards.
    • Ensure that the camp storage is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
    • Maintain inventory and complete assigned paperwork.
  • Camp Registration:
    • Assist families in enrolling their campers using the CRM database.
    • Update camper records and input pertinent information into the database.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively and collaborate with co-workers including Admissions and Customer Engagement Coordinators located at ESF’s Headquarters office, Director, and General Manager of Phillies Baseball Academy Camps.
  • Safety & Positive Group Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of campers with emphasis on positive behavior and effective group management. Promptly report any concerns to the Director.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively with co-workers as a team and collaborate on various responsibilities
  • Be the Ultimate Role Model: Supervise campers, while fostering a positive and safe environment.
  • Demonstrate ESF Core Values & Code daily, from “Gratitude” to “Bring It” daily.
  • Model the ESF Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain clear, concise, and engaging communication with campers, families, peers, and our leadership team.
    • Serve as a liaison between ESF Camps and parents/guardians - Assist parents and Team members with medical and health questions.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports directly to and takes direction from the Director regarding daily camp operations.
  • Reports directly to and takes direction from the Director of Nursing and Camp Medical Doctor regarding athletic training practice.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Push/pull, lift, and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus. Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
  • Respond to emergencies, including running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion.
