Job DescriptionJob Title: Travel Field Technician Trainee (Per Diem)Job Description

Embark on an exciting career as a Field Technician Trainee where you will be a crucial part of the team responsible for the build, testing, and setup of in-line inspection tools and support equipment. This role offers the opportunity to travel extensively, gaining hands-on experience in inspecting pipelines for corrosion and other damage, while working alongside seasoned professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the build, testing, and setup of the ILI (in line inspection) tool and support equipment under the direction of the Field Superintendent.
  • Provide support during field execution and contribute to post-run reports for in-line inspections.
  • Inspect pipelines for internal and external corrosion or other damage.
  • Assist in preparing, launching, and receiving in-line inspection tools.
  • Clean, refurbish, and maintain in-line inspection tools after the completion of a job.
  • Responsible for the transportation of in-line inspection tools and equipment to job sites.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Solid job tenure with no large gaps in employment history.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a field technician performing piping/pipeline inspection.
  • 2-year College and/or Technical Electronic Degree.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools such as socket wrenches and impact drills.

Work Environment

Experience a dynamic work environment that includes both shop and field settings, which may involve extreme working conditions such as heat, cold, and wet weather. Expect a flexible schedule that typically runs from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM when in the shop, with potential changes during travel. Enjoy extensive travel opportunities within the US and Canada, with guaranteed 10-hour workdays even in adverse weather conditions. The position offers company cell phone and credit card, with all travel and lodging expenses covered. You will ride a company truck to the site, ensuring you have the necessary tools and support to succeed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
