Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Summary: A leading international law firm is seeking a Legal Talent Manager to join its attorney development team. This position plays a key role in managing employment status changes for lawyers across various offices and career stages. Working closely with firm leadership, practice group heads, and cross-functional teams, this individual will oversee processes related to internal mobility, secondments, leaves of absence, promotions, and departures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the central contact for attorney transfers between U.S. and international offices, coordinating logistics and internal notifications.
  • Partner with internal departments to manage processes related to disability leave, including liaising with benefits staff.
  • Support the execution of secondments to clients and other external organizations, working directly with senior attorneys.
  • Administer flexible work arrangement programs, including part-time schedules, in coordination with senior leadership.
  • Oversee non-partner title promotions and manage related documentation, announcements, and workflows.
  • Supervise junior team members responsible for attorney offboarding, including voluntary departures and retirements.
  • Collaborate on the management of a global associate program, including communications, scheduling, and visa coordination in partnership with immigration counsel.
  • Participate in firmwide attorney development projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Support other talent-related operational activities and assist with department-wide strategic initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally in legal talent, HR, or professional development within a professional services environment.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-service mindset, with the ability to build trust across seniority levels.
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the capacity to learn internal HR/talent systems.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and remain flexible in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or travel occasionally, as needed.
