Job Description

Job DescriptionPrimary Purpose The Fabrication Database Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management of databases related to plumbing/piping fabrication processes, ensuring efficient and fast turnaround on new requests that satisfy requirements and specifications. This role has a primary emphasis on supporting the CAD database.The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in CAD database management systems and familiarity with fabrication processes, knowledge of industry-specific data types, standards, and workflows, and specific experience with one or more of the following:

  • AutoCAD: Advanced
  • Dynamo: Advanced
  • Revit: Intermediate
  • Python: Intermediate
  • SQL and Relational Databases: Intermediate
  • LISP: Basic
  • Microsoft Excel: Basic

Qualifications Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information or Construction Technology, Graphic Design, CAD, Computer Programming, MIS, or a closely related field
    1. Work experience and industry certifications accepted in lieu of degree

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of folder structures (at OS level) and basic command line scripts
  • Skill with math and geometry functions (triangle calculations, curves, areas, deduction)
  • Skill with spatial reasoning for CAD
  • Skill in working in an enterprise ticketing system

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create and maintain technical documentation on current processes and implemented solutions
  • Research and document company processes to determine software to meet the specific needs of the various business units and company
  • Design, configure, implement, and support technologies that meet business needs
  • Provide strategic recommendations for company process improvements
  • Develop, maintain, and report changes on scope and schedules for all projects to stakeholders
  • Participate in regular technology meetings and provide status updates
  • Utilize a ticketing system to track support requests and document corrective actions
  • Assign or re-assign support requests to the appropriate department when applicable
