Step into a vibrant educational setting and support student growth as a Special Education Teacher with two immediate contract openings in Northeast Minneapolis. This opportunity runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with hours from 7:15 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 38.75 hours per week. There are two positions available: one in an Elementary Setting III classroom and the other at the Middle School level. Candidates holding a Tier 3 or 4 teaching license are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher licensure; Tier 3 or 4 preferred
- Experience working in elementary or middle school settings
- Deep knowledge of instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
- Adaptability and a passion for fostering inclusive classrooms
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction adapted to individual student needs
- Create, monitor, and update IEPs while ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
- Participate in professional development, school meetings, and collaborative problem-solving
