This is a critical role for our small company, requiring a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and a willingness to actively participate in various construction tasks. The ideal candidate will be a working site supervisor, capable of both directing trades and getting involved in the physical work as needed to ensure project success and maintain schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management & Oversight:
    • Directly manage and supervise all on-site construction activities from project start-up to completion.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions proactively.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality of work, adherence to plans, and compliance with all building codes and safety regulations.
    • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other project documentation.
    • Effectively communicate project status to management, clients, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Hands-On Participation:
    • Actively participate in various construction tasks as required, which may include (but are not limited to) minor framing, demolition, material handling, site clean-up, quality checks, and assisting trades as needed to keep the project moving.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues with a practical, hands-on approach.
    • Operate small equipment safely and efficiently (if applicable and certified).
  • Quality Control & Safety:
    • Implement and enforce rigorous quality control standards, ensuring all work meets company and industry specifications.
    • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site, conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
    • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Team Leadership & Communication:
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate on-site personnel and subcontractors.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
    • Resolve conflicts and address issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Material & Equipment Management:
    • Oversee the receiving, storage, and protection of materials and equipment on site.
    • Coordinate material deliveries to align with project schedules.
    • Coordinate supply returns when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Site Supervisor or Foreman in residential construction.
  • Proven ability to perform hands-on construction tasks and assist trades when necessary.
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred), and quality control procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets) and project management software (software like BuilderTrend).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Demands: This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

What We Offer:
