Robert Half Lexington is looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join a team in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to support a dynamic medical/malpractice defense team while contributing to high-quality legal operations. The ideal candidate will excel in administrative tasks, document management, and transcription while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced legal environment. Requires prior legal administrative experience.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to 3-4 attorneys and a paralegal, ensuring smooth workflow and communication.
• Transcribe legal documents and correspondence from dictation with accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage and organize legal documents, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to filing protocols.
• Assist with calendar management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings for attorneys.
• Serve as a backup for other legal secretaries within the practice group when needed.
• Prepare and handle confidential correspondence and legal filings in compliance with industry standards.
• Utilize case management software and tools such as Aderant and Adobe Acrobat to complete tasks.
• Support client relations by handling inquiries and ensuring timely communication.
• Perform general administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and document preparation.
• Ensure all tasks are completed within specified deadlines, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
• Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in insurance defense or medical malpractice.
• Proficiency in legal software tools such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and case management systems.
• Strong typing and transcription skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and provide support as needed.
• Familiarity with legal filing procedures and document management systems.
