Job Title: Transmission Engineer – Powertrain Systems

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Transmission Engineer to lead the evaluation, development, and integration of advanced transmission technologies across automotive and 4-wheel drive vehicle platforms. This role will focus on CVT, dual-clutch, and torque converter automatic systems, translating performance expectations into measurable targets and ensuring optimal vehicle drivability, durability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, develop, and implement transmission technologies including CVT, DCT, and torque converter automatic systems.
• Define objective performance targets that correlate with subjective drivability and customer experience metrics.
• Develop and execute test plans for transmission technology evaluation and benchmarking.
• Conduct performance assessments including shift quality, efficiency, durability, NVH, and thermal behavior.
• Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and select transmission solutions that meet vehicle requirements.
• Support system integration with powertrain, controls, and vehicle dynamics teams.
• Analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous performance improvements.
• Create documentation including specifications, validation reports, and engineering reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission or powertrain development.
• Hands-on experience with CVT, DCT, or automatic transmissions.
• Strong understanding of drivability, shift quality, and vehicle performance metrics.
• Experience creating test plans, validation methods, and data analysis.
• Experience working with external suppliers and cross-functional teams.
