Merchandising Assistant - Full-Time
Days/Hours Required: Monday - Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Job Summary
The Merchandising Assistant’s primary responsibility is to support the Merchandising Manager in creating the best possible customer experience for the website through digital merchandising, category management, and product curation. Additional requirements include cross functional collaboration for problem solving, close partnership with the Creative Director, and a strong customer focused mindset. This position requires the ability to effectively navigate the product management system as well as the company website and supporting platforms.
Job Requirements/Expectations:
- Merchandise the website to drive sales and the customer experience, including facet management, category curation, and product pinning
- Partner with Web Development team to execute merchandising site updates and bug fixes, including Jira ticket management
- Make sales and vendor driven product selections/recommendations for the home page, product landing pages, emails, and sales events
- Audit the site for product mis-categorization and make attribute updates to best align the products to the customer experience
- Conduct regular competitive research to establish best in class merchandising practices, trend stories, and product features
- Write catchy headlines to support the home page and landing pages
- Understand and support needs of Customer Support and retail store locations as it impacts the web customer experience
- Partner with external SEO team to align web merchandising with traffic driving recommendations and best practices
- Effectively navigate organizational systems, including purchasing and inventory management system and the Shades of Light website
- Perform data entry tasks while ensuring completeness and accuracy of information
Qualifications:
- 2- or 4-year degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Communications or other related field or equivalent experience preferred
- 1-2 Years of relevant work experience preferred
