OSP Field Inspector - Fiber Construction
Job Description
TekCom Resources is seeking an experienced OSP Field Inspector to support broadband and fiber construction projects throughout Virginia. This field-based role involves monitoring subcontractor activities, inspecting construction quality, and ensuring work meets project specifications, safety standards, and scheduled deadlines.

Responsibilities

- Conduct field inspections of OSP construction, including excavation, directional boring, hand-hole placement, fiber installation, and restoration.
- Monitor subcontractor crews to ensure work meets construction plans, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Review construction drawings and specifications to verify accurate installation.
- Inspect underground and aerial fiber construction, grounding, and related infrastructure.
- Document construction progress, inspection results, deficiencies, and site conditions through daily reports and photos.
- Identify construction issues, communicate concerns, and coordinate corrective actions with subcontractors and project management.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on construction progress, quality, and potential delays.

Requirements
\n

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certifications preferred.
- Experience in OSP telecommunications or fiber construction, inspection, or QA/QC.
- Knowledge of underground and/or aerial construction methods, including excavation, boring, cable placement, and restoration.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel between job sites.
- Valid driver's license required.

Relevant Experience: OSP Construction, Fiber Optics, FTTH/FTTP/FTTx, QA/QC, Field Inspection, Construction Ride-Out (CRO), Aerial and Underground Fiber, Cable Placement, CATV, Utilities, NESC, Make-Ready Engineering, Pole Lines, OSP Surveying, and Field Data Collection.
