Job Title: Electrical Project Manager
Salary Range: $75,000 – $100,000 (commensurate with experience)
Reports To: Senior Project Manager
Location: Mt. Airy, MD
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution, management, profitability, and timely completion of assigned electrical construction projects. This role ensures effective coordination between estimating, field operations, and project closeout while providing leadership, training, and support to Assistant Project Managers and field personnel. Project Managers report to the Mt. Airy office but are often on site 1–2 times per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

  • Lead and oversee pre-construction meetings to ensure a seamless handoff from estimating to field operations

  • Establish clear goals, expectations, and performance standards for foremen and project teams

  • Negotiate, address, and resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner

  • Prepare, estimate, and manage change orders for assigned projects

  • Oversee project closeout procedures, ensuring all contractual and documentation requirements are met

  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance counseling to foremen and Assistant Project Managers

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships within the electrical and construction industry

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook email & calendar, and Bluebeam

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Positive, professional attitude with strong leadership capabilities

  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing electrical construction projects

  • Prior field experience in the electrical trade strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of electrical codes, construction methods, and project management best practices
