Location: Raleigh, NC

Job Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Travel: Approximately 20%

Position Overview:

\n

We are seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to support turnkey EPC high-voltage substation and transmission projects. This position will provide civil and structural engineering expertise from conceptual design through detailed engineering and project execution.

\n


\n

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting utility and industrial substation projects, with a strong background in civil/structural design, engineering calculations, project execution, and constructability.

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Civil/structural design and calculations for substation projects
  • \n

  • Foundations, grading/site development, steel structures, buildings, and seismic design
  • \n

  • Develop drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables
  • \n

  • Review engineering packages and manufacturer documentation
  • \n

  • Support project execution, schedules, constructability, and customer coordination
  • \n

  • Approximately 20% travel to project sites and customer meetings
  • \n

\n

Requirements:

\n

    \n
  • BS in Civil Engineering; MS preferred
  • \n

  • 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience
  • \n

  • 5+ years of experience specifically with substation projects
  • \n

  • PE license required
  • \n

  • Experience with GIS/AIS and utility or industrial substations
  • \n

  • Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and ANSI standards
  • \n

  • Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar software
  • \n
